World Read Aloud Day

World Read Aloud Day is an opportunity for people all around the globe to celebrate the joy of reading aloud, and advocate for literacy as a fundamental human right that belongs to everyone. Over the last ten years, World Read Aloud Day has evolved into a global movement of millions of readers, writers, and listeners from communities all across the world coming together to honor the joy and power of reading and sharing stories, and continue expanding the definition and scope of global literacy.
Everyone should have the chance to share stories.
At Akal College of Education, Eternal University, a new turn was given to the event where the differently-abled students from Akal Charitable Hospital were invited to the college and different stories were read aloud to them. The students enjoyed the story telling session and retold them in their own words. At the end a warm farewell was given to them. Dr. Raina Bhatia, Principal along with Ms. Varsha Midha, Dr. Jasvir Kaur and other staff members distributed interesting story books to them. It was a wonderful experience instilling the values of caring, sharing and giving amongst the students.
Other activities conducted on this occasion – motivating trainees to read and present stories daily for one week. Along with it Regular Writer’s Corner has been made in front of library where trainees will keep on displaying biographies or their own poetic/literary work.
All trainees enhanced their knowledge and enjoyed a lot.
