Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry organized an extension lecture which was delivered by Dr. Karan Singh on the topic “OPC-VH Reagent and its synthetic utility”. The expert explained the significance of Vilsmeier-Hack reagent in synthetic chemistry along with the importance of micro-wave technique and regioselectivity in organic synthesis. Most of the reactions for derivatization were explained with plausible mechanisms. The lecture was very interesting and informative for students and faculty of the Department
