National Science Day Celebration
With the blessing of Baba Dr. Davinder Singh, Honourable Vice Chancellor of Eternal University Baru Sahib, and under the guidance and supervision of Honourable Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Amrik Singh Ahluwalia, National Science Day 2024 was celebrated to commemorate the importance of science and its contributions to society. The day was celebrated by the students as well as the faculty members of the Akal College of Basic Sciences. The convener of the programme was Dr. Sandipan Gupta, and e co-convener was D Dr. Surjan Singh. The students and research scholars have participated in various competitions such as video making competitions, rangoli competitions; science and technology quiz competitions, mehandi competitions, poster competitions, science Olympiads, science model making competitions, debate competitions, etc. Students also got a chance to visit the waste management unit and the apiary unit. During this celebration, a nature walk has been organised, and approximately 150 faculty members and students enjoyed the nature view at Riverside Kheri. Many of the students have been awarded first, second, and third prizes. Additionally, all participants received certificates of participation as tokens of appreciation for their efforts and enthusiasm. Dr. Nasib Singh delivered an expert talk on “Indigenous Technologies for Viksit Bharat” during the valedictory function of National Science Day in the university auditorium. The event was successfully closed by a vote of thanks to all the participants, including the including the audience, faculty members, jury members, organizing committee members, IT cell, convener of NSD-2024, and HIMCOSTE, for their valuable contributions.
