On March 21, 2025, the Department of Botany at Eternal University enthusiastically celebrated World Forest Day, centering on the critical theme of forests and their role in ensuring food security. The event featured expert lectures and interactive discussions that emphasized the importance of forests in sustaining biodiversity, supporting agriculture, and maintaining ecological balance. Faculty, students, and invited guests explored how forest ecosystems contribute to soil fertility, water conservation, and climate regulation. A symbolic recreation of the historic Chipko Movement was staged by students, serving as a powerful reminder of the need for forest conservation and collective responsibility toward protecting natural resources.
