B.Sc. (Hons.) Psychology

The Department of Psychology is one of the premier departments which, right from inception in the year 2016 under the Akal College of Arts & Social Sciences has incessantly strived to inculcate the motto of scientific attitude in its students.The department of psychology has a multidimensional image in terms of excellent research and teaching and has been a leader in the region. The balance between pure and applied research has given the department a rare profile. The department offers three programmes, B.Sc. (Hons.) Psychology, M.Sc. Psychology and Doctorate of Psychology (PhD). Our B.Sc. Psychology program offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to provide students with a strong foundation in core psychological principles, critical thinking, and research methodologies. Through hands-on learning experiences and a focus on ethical awareness and cultural competence, students develop practical skills in communication and research, preparing them for further study or careers in diverse fields such as mental health, education, and research. 1. Nancy (BS19BSPSY006) a student of Psychology Department, Akal College of Arts & Social Sciences has awarded two Gold Medals at the Eternal University Convocation 2023. She was awarded with the following Medals – • University Gold Medal (Awarded to a best student who obtains the highest % in academics along with outstanding extracurricular performance.) • Class Topper Medal

Khushbu (BS21BPSY005) student of Psychology Department B.Sc. 3rd year achieved the • Runner-up position in the National Level Writing Competition in English Language organized by Maverick Thoughts Community. • Secured 2nd Position in National Science Day Quiz Competition 2022. • Got 2nd Position in Mathematics Olympiad on National Mathematics Day 2021. • Secured 2nd position in Declamation Competition on Women's Day 2022. • First Position in Inter College Basketball Competition 2023. • She has successfully completed the course "Recognizing and Responding to Child Maltreatment" with a score of 90% through Prevent Child Abuse of North Carolina. • She Contributed poems and stories to over 50 published books and dedicated time to several non-profit organizations, including Muskurahat Foundation, NGN Foundation, and Nirdosh School for Special Children. • Currently she is serving as an Education Volunteer at the Mymenia Foundation in Delhi for over a year. • She is working as a freelance Digital Creator, utilizing various social media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook to raise mental health awareness. • She actively participated in different activities organised by the Eternal University like; impactful street plays, awareness rallies to promote important causes such as International Women's Day, World Kidney Day, World Tobacco Day, and Drug De-addiction Camps
