Department of Music, Eternal University, Baru Sahib
Date: 1st – 8th August 2025

The Department of Music, Eternal University, Baru Sahib, successfully conducted an orientation program for the newly admitted students from 1st August to 8th August 2025. The objective of the program was to familiarize the freshers with the academic environment, facilities, rules and regulations, and overall ethos of the University.

Day 1 – 1st August 2025

The orientation program commenced with a warm interaction between the Dean Madam and the freshers. During this session, the Dean welcomed the students and motivated them to pursue their academic journey with sincerity, discipline, and dedication. She emphasized the values of Eternal University and the importance of blending spiritual growth with academic excellence. This interaction helped the students feel comfortable and inspired as they began their new academic life

Day 2 – 4th August 2025

On the second day, students attended an interactive session on the National Education Policy (NEP) and the syllabus structure. The Head of the Department explained the academic framework, credit system, evaluation process, and the wide opportunities available under the NEP guidelines. Students actively participated in the discussion and clarified their doubts regarding the curriculum. This session helped them to understand the importance of multidisciplinary learning and future career prospects

Day 3 – 5th August 2025

The third day was dedicated to campus familiarization and visits to various academic sections. The students were taken around the University to interact with different administrative and academic offices. They visited the Registrar’s office, Academic Council, and other important sections to understand the functioning of the institution.

Additionally, students observed poster presentations and awareness displays organized by the University on topics of social relevance like gender equality, innovation, and research awareness. This visit helped the students to realize the importance of knowledge beyond classroom learning.

Later, they visited different departments and interacted with faculty members who oriented them about academic procedures, research culture, and student facilities.


Day 4 – 6th August 2025

On this day, students participated in a nature walk and environmental visit around the lush green surroundings of Baru Sahib. The faculties guided them through the gardens and natural landscape at the backside of the campus. The activity not only allowed students to experience the serene beauty of the Himalayan environment but also emphasized the importance of connecting with nature for peace of mind and inspiration in their musical journey.

Also, the freshers visited the IB School campus with the faculty members of Music Department.

This visit instilled environmental awareness, team bonding, and relaxation after formal sessions. The freshers enthusiastically engaged in discussions with their teachers while appreciating the spiritual and ecological balance of Baru Sahib


Day 5– 7th August 2025

In continuation of the orientation, students had an exposure visit to the library facilities of Eternal University. They were shown the Central Library, reading sections, and the available resources including books, journals, and e-resources. The Librarian guided them on how to access the library and utilize resources for academic enrichment.

On this day, the freshers attended library orientation and resource interaction session, where they were introduced to the importance of independent learning and research-based study. The library staff explained cataloguing methods, digital databases, and access to reference material.


Conclusion

The Orientation Program (1st – 8th August 2025) was a meaningful and enriching experience for the new students. It provided them with a holistic introduction to the academic culture, spiritual environment, and resources of Eternal University. The sessions with the Dean Madam, faculty interactions, NEP syllabus explanation, administrative visits, and library orientation together ensured that the freshers are well-prepared to begin their academic journey with confidence and enthusiasm
