The Akal College of Economics, Commerce and Management (ACECM), Eternal University, organized a week-long Orientation Programme from 1st to 8th August 2025 to welcome the newly admitted students of B.Com. and BBA (Hons. with Research). The series of activities was designed to acquaint freshers with the university environment, academic resources, and opportunities for holistic growth. The programme commenced on 1st August with an Orientation Session, including interactions with faculty members, followed by a guided campus tour. Students visited the academic blocks, Administrative Block, and University Library, gaining familiarity with university systems and facilities. On 2nd August, students visited the Botanical Garden, where they explored diverse plant species and learned about biodiversity conservation, sustainability, and the role of green spaces in enhancing campus life. The programme continued on 4th August with visits to the Akal Bakery, Akal Hospital, and Waste Management Plant. Students observed localized food production, learned about basic healthcare facilities, and understood sustainable waste management practices adopted by the university. On 5th August, fresher visited the Zoology and Botany Museum under the guidance of faculty members and subject experts. The tour deepened their understanding of biological diversity and enriched their academic orientation. The Agriculture Museum visit on 6th August offered insights into India’s agricultural heritage, modern innovations, and their significance to business and commerce. Expert explanations and demonstrations made the session interactive and informative. The orientation concluded on 8th August with a field visit to Chhapang Research Farm and a nearby waterfall. Students observed modern cultivation techniques in vegetable and horticultural crops, explored greenhouse farming, and later enjoyed group activities at the natural site.

 

Overall, the Orientation Programme successfully combined academic exposure, environmental awareness, and recreational experiences. It provided students with a smooth transition into university life, instilled confidence, and inspired them to begin their academic journey with enthusiasm.
