An
educational tour organized by Akal College of Economics, Commerce and
Management, Eternal University during April 24-26 provided students with a
meaningful combination of academic exposure, environmental learning, cultural
understanding, and spiritual experience. The journey to Dehradun and nearby
places became an enriching learning experience beyond the classroom
environment.
The
first day of the tour included a visit to the renowned Forest Research
Institute. The institute offered valuable insights into forestry research,
biodiversity conservation, and sustainable environmental practices. Observing
the museum sections, research displays, and the vast green campus helped
students understand the importance of natural resource management and
environmental sustainability in a practical manner. The visit greatly enhanced
awareness regarding conservation and ecological balance.
Later
on the same day, the group visited Sahastradhara, a beautiful destination
famous for its natural sulfur water springs and scenic surroundings. The
peaceful environment, flowing streams, and hills created a refreshing
atmosphere for everyone. The visit also highlighted the natural and cultural
importance of water resources and provided students with an opportunity to
connect with nature.
On
April 25, the tour continued to Rishikesh, known worldwide for its spiritual
and cultural significance. The group visited the sacred Neelkanth Mahadev
Temple, situated amidst the serene hills. The temple visit gave students an
opportunity to experience the spiritual traditions and religious heritage
associated with Lord Shiva. The journey also included a visit to the holy Ganga
River, where the calm surroundings created a sense of peace and devotion. A
memorable part of the day was attending the evening Ganga Aarti at Triveni
Ghat. The devotional chants, glowing lamps, and spiritual atmosphere along the
riverbank created a deeply inspiring experience for all participants. It
reflected the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of India and left a lasting
impression on the students.
On
April 26, while returning towards the university, the group visited Paonta
Sahib, an important Sikh pilgrimage site associated with Guru Gobind Singh. The
visit offered valuable lessons about spirituality, discipline, equality, and
humanity. The peaceful environment of the Gurudwara inspired feelings of
respect and inner calm among the students. The educational tour concluded with
the return to the university campus. Overall, the journey proved to be highly
informative and memorable, as it successfully combined academic learning with
environmental awareness, cultural exposure, and spiritual understanding. It not
only broadened the students’ knowledge but also strengthened interpersonal bonding
and provided experiences that will remain meaningful for a long time.
