collaboration with Dev
Samaj College of Education ,Chandigarh and Govt. College of Education, Chandigarh from 5th to 15th
July,2021. The workshop started with welcoming of Chief Guest Dr Agneese
Dhillon, Principal, Dev Samaj College of Education ,Chandigarh and Guest of
Honour Dr Neelam Paul, Associate Professor, Govt. College of Education,Chandigarh. Then Dr
Raino Bhatia, Principal presented the following aim and objectives of B.Ed.

Brief outline of workshop
There was brain storming session on B.Ed. Curriculum. After that the faculty of all the three colleges had given their valuable suggestions. There were 16 faculty and all research scholars of Dev Samaj College of Education,Chandigarh,16 faculty and all research scholars of Govt. College of Education, Chandigarh and 07 faculty and 20 B.Ed. Trainees and of Akal College of Education, Eternal University and 02 research scholars of M.A.(Education) ,Akal College of Arts and Social Sciences. Altogether 101 participants attended workshop.
A outline of the curriculum was made and faculty were divided into groups as per their specialization. Each semester were discussed and made in two days. And in last two days the whole syllabus was winded up. It was a wonderful work done by the faculty of all three colleges.
The curriculum is made as per NCTE norms. The curriculum is made in such a way so that the B.Ed. Trainees will be developing into reflective practitioners. The course structure offers a comprehensive coverage of themes and rigorous field engagement with the child, school and community. The programme is comprised of three broad inter-related curricular areas – I) Perspectives in Education, II) Curriculum and Pedagogic Studies, and III) Engagement with the Field. All the courses include in-built field-based units of study, tutorials and practical’s along with theoretical inputs from an interdisciplinary perspective. Engagement with the Field is the curricular component that is meant to holistically link all the courses across the programme, while it also includes special courses for Enhancing Professional Capacities (EPC) of the student teachers. Transaction of the courses will be made using a variety of approaches, such as, case studies, group presentations, projects, discussions on reflective journals, observations of children, and interactions with the community in multiple socio cultural environments .The workshop ended with vote of thanks.
