It’s a matter of great pride and Honour for the Eternal University, Baru Sahib of District Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh that 6th Convocation was organised . The convocation was graced with the presence of Hon’ble Governor of the Himachal Pradesh Acharya Devvrat ji, the Chancellor of the University Baba Iqbal Singh ji and Padma Bhushan Shree Khem Singh Gill ji.
In the convocation 294 degrees were awarded out of which 4 are of Ph.D., 96 of Post Graduate and 194 are of Undergraduate. The University has awarded two students with Gold medals , In PG studies Kavita Verma and in UG Studies Ankita Chauhan. 14 students were awarded with Medals of Toppers and 45 students were awarded Certificates of Merit in Various courses. Special service award was given to one staff member Mr Paramjit singh and three faculty members Dr Karan Singh, Dr Ajar Nath Yadav and Dr Radheshyam Rai.
Hon’ble Governor was given guard of Honour by the Students of NCC and NSS on his arrival at the convocation. He joined the convocation procession followed by declaration of the opening of the Convocation by baba Iqbal Singh ji. Vice-Chancellor Dr. H.S.Dhaliwal has presented the annual report of the University and followed by the presentation of degrees. Hon’ble Governor in his address congratulated the university on Guru Parv and said that Guru Govind Singh was first who initiated the girls child protection. He also stressed on the need of good “guru shiksha” to the students to bring the quality in the society and advised to the students to be in continuous touch with their professional education. Prior to the convocation Hon’ble Governor visited the University facilities of Hospital, Solar Kitchen , bakery , International Baccalaureate and food Technology Department.
