Introduction:
Vigilance
Awareness Week 2025 was observed from October 27 to November 2 under the theme
"Vigilance – Our Shared Responsibility" at ACECM, Eternal University.
Coordinated by Dr. Shivani Dutt and led by Prof SK Chauhan, Dean of ACECM, this
initiative by the Central Vigilance Commission aimed to promote integrity,
transparency, and accountability to combat corruption.
Activities Conducted
throughout the week:
A series of activities were
conducted throughout the week. During the week, e-banners displaying the theme were shared across the formal social
groups of students and faculty to raise visible awareness.
On
October 29,
A key lecture titled "Promoting
Professional Integrity and Ethical Teaching Practices in Higher Education"
was delivered by Prof SK Chauhan (Dean ACECM).The lecture outlined best
practices for university teachers, including upholding honesty, impartiality,
confidentiality, respect, continuous professional growth.
On
October 30, a movie Nayak: The Real Herorelated to corruption
was screened in the auditorium to visually reinforce the vigilance message,it proved to be highly relevant for discussions on
corruption as it vividly highlights systemic corruption in politics and
administration. Movie served as a strong motivation for students by inspiring
them to uphold ethical values, be vigilant against corruption, and believe in
their ability to make a positive change in society and governance
Social experiments on honesty among
students were set where in deliberately situations where created to test
honesty, such as hiding objects, money, or important personal items like phones
or keys, and observing whether students report or return them. These
experiments provided practical insights into the students’ integrity,
vigilance, and ethical behavior in real-life scenarios. Certificates
recognizing Honesty were awarded to VedikaAwasthi (BBA 2nd year), Daman (2nd
year M.Sc Economics), Gurjeet Kaur (B. Com 3rd year), Dilpreet Kaur (B. Com 2nd
year), Taniya, and Mandeep (MBA 2nd year).
Integrity
pledge
was taken by all and everyone was encouraged to take the integrity e-Pledge
through the Central Vigilance Commission’s portal, demonstrating their
commitment to honesty and receive a e-certificate of the same.
Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 at
ACECM successfully reinforced integrity and ethical behavior among faculty,
staff, and students, fostering a culture of vigilance and professionalism
crucial for institutional and societal advancement.
