The 14th Convocation of Eternal University, Baru Sahib, was held on 26th Sep 2026 at the Valley of Divine Peace in a dignified and spiritually uplifting atmosphere, marking not just an academic celebration but a defining moment in the historic milestone year of Akal Academy Baru Sahib – the Mother Institution for Eternal University.

This landmark year commemorates the 100th Birth Anniversary of Padma Shri Hon’ble Sant Baba Iqbal Singh Ji (1926–2026) alongside 40 years of value-based education (1986–2026)—a journey rooted in visionary leadership, rural transformation, and lifelong contribution to education and social upliftment. Eternal University fulfills the timeless vision of Sant Baba Attar Singh Ji (who laid the foundation stone of Banaras Hindu University in 1911) and Sant Baba Teja Singh Ji—a legacy brought into vibrant reality through the lifelong devotion of Sant Baba Iqbal Singh Ji. The convocation stood as a reflection of this enduring legacy and its continued impact across all institutions of the Akal network.

Dr. Harminder Singh Bawa, Vice Chancellor of Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Solan, attended as the Chief Guest and was warmly welcomed by Dr. Davinder Singh Ji, Chancellor, Eternal University and President, The Kalgidhar Trust, along with Dr. Neelam Kaur, Vice Chancellor, Eternal University, in the presence of a large gathering comprising faculty, students, parents, and members of the Baru Sahib community. The ceremony commenced with Shabad Kirtan and traditional musical rendition.

A total of 293 students were awarded degrees, including 222 undergraduate, 66 postgraduate and 5 Ph.D. scholars, in the presence of over 2,500 attendees—marking a significant milestone in their academic journey.

Outstanding students were recognised with 6 Excellence Awards, 5 Dr. Jasjit Balwant Atwal M.D. Scholarships, 2 Best Library User Awards and 11 Medals. Ms. Garima Chauhan (B.Sc. Agriculture) received the University Medal at the undergraduate level, while Ms. Ravneet Kaur (Agronomy) was honoured at the postgraduate level.

Presenting the Annual Report, Dr. Neelam Kaur highlighted the University’s academic progress and encouraged students to uphold discipline, responsibility and human values. Dr. Davinder Singh Ji emphasised that education must go beyond personal success to serve society, urging each student to support at least one person in need and spread knowledge like one lamp lighting another. Chief Guest Dr. Harminder Singh Bawa congratulated the graduates and announced a forthcoming MoU to strengthen academic and research collaboration. The ceremony also paid tribute to Sant Baba Iqbal Singh Ji’s vision of uplifting rural communities, encouraging students to stay rooted in their values. A key highlight was the release of the Alumni Chronicle, showcasing alumni journeys to inspire future generations.

The message of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, “Vidya Vichari Taan Parupkari,” remained central to the occasion—reaffirming that the true purpose of knowledge lies in service to humanity.

The convocation thus emerged as more than an academic ceremony—it stood as a living expression of the Mother Institution’s historic milestone year, carrying forward a legacy of knowledge, service, and altruism that continues to guide and inspire generations.
