World Consumer Rights Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and active participation at Akal College of Economics, Commerce and Management, Eternal University, Baru Sahib on the 18th and 19th of March 2025 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The event witnessed the participation of 51 students and was organized to spread awareness among students and the community about consumer rights and the importance of sustainable lifestyles. The theme for this year was "A Just Transition to Sustainable Lifestyles," emphasizing the necessity of promoting sustainable, healthy lifestyle choices that are accessible, affordable, and available to all consumers while ensuring the protection of their basic rights and needs. The primary objective of the celebration was to highlight the importance of consumer rights, encourage sustainable and responsible consumer behavior, educate participants about accessible, eco-friendly lifestyle choices, and foster creativity, critical thinking, and active engagement among students. Various activities were organized over the two days to make the event engaging and informative. A vibrant rally was organized to spread awareness about the significance of World Consumer Rights Day, followed by an impactful Nukkad Natak (street play) performed by the students focusing on consumer rights and sustainable living practices, which captured the attention of the audience and created a lasting impression. A Poster Making Competition was also conducted where students creatively depicted the theme through art, highlighting important messages about consumer rights, eco-friendly habits, and responsible consumption. An interactive session titled "Sustainable Practices – DIY on Creative Recycling" was organized where participants showcased their creativity by making useful items from waste materials, promoting the idea of reducing, reusing, and recycling to support sustainable living. In addition, a Presentation Competition was held, where participants presented case studies related to sustainable consumer practices, enabling students to deeply research real-world examples and share insights on how consumers and industries are transitioning toward sustainable lifestyles. The celebration of World Consumer Rights Day at Akal College of Economics, Commerce and Management proved to be highly successful and impactful, achieving its goal of raising awareness about consumer rights and inspiring a shift towards sustainable living among the students.Have any Query
