5th NABARD sponsored 5 days on-campus training program
The inaugural session was held on 07 th June, 2022. The programme began with registration of the farmers. Dr. Neelam Thakur, Assistant Professor, gave the welcome address and with a brief introduction to the project and IFS model. The lectures on water harvesting was given by Dr. Mahesh Tripathi followed Dr. Praneet Chauhan. At the 5 th day in the valedictory functions the Chief Guest for the function was Prof. (Dr.) Amrik Singh Ahluwalia, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Eternal University, Baru Sahib Sirmour, Himachal Pradesh. The dignitaries present on the stage were Dr. Sandeepan Gupta Dean (ACBS), Dr. Kanwaljit Kaur Ahluwalia and Dr. Neelam Thakur, Principal Investigator (PI) of the project. The ceremony was commenced with the welcome of Chief Guest with memento by Dr. Neelam Thakur. In the closing remarks Dr. Neelam Thakur thanked the farmers and gave the assurance of helping them with IFS models whenever needed. Many participants applauded the training program for imparting knowledge pertaining to different techniques of IFS model. They stated these programs will be helpful in enhancing their means of livelihood as well as in the women empowerment. This programme was sponsored by National Agriculture Bank for Rural Development (NABARD) Shimla Himachal Pradesh. This 05 days programme was convened under the dynamic co- ordinatorship of Dr. Neelam Thakur Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Zoology, Eternal University Baru Sahib. Other Coordinators of this programme include Dr. Priyanka Thakur (Entomology), Dr. Mahesh Tripathi (Agricultural Engineering) and Dr. Krishan Kumar (Food Technology).
