A webinar titled “Beyond Degrees – Building Career with Employability Skills” was organized by the Akal College of Economics, Commerce and Management, Eternal University on August 20, 2025. The attendees of the webinar were all freshers from B.Com., BBA and MBA programs. The event commenced with a warm welcome to all attendees and a brief introduction of the distinguished resource person.

Dr. Amanpal Singh Chawla, Executive Director of Skillspade Solutions and founder of FINSAARTHI, an accomplished mentor, trainer, consultant, and financial educator, was the key speaker of the event. Dr. Chawla delivered an inspiring and interactive session focused on the importance of employability skills in today’s dynamic job market. He emphasized that academic degrees alone are not sufficient to ensure career development or advancement. Instead, he highlighted the necessity of cultivating relevant skills and practical experience.

The webinar focused on the critical role of employability skills beyond academic degrees for career success. Dr. Amanpal Singh Chawla emphasized key skills such as communication, problem-solving, adaptability, professional ethics, and continuous learning. Participants learned about various career domains where these skills are essential and the importance of having clear career goals to identify opportunities and skill requirements. The session highlighted the need to align skills with market demands and recommended development courses in Excel, PowerPoint, networking, and digital marketing to boost employability. Guidance was provided on making informed career choices through self-assessment and ongoing skill enhancement. Continuous learning and professional certifications were stressed as vital for long-term career growth.
