Tackling Plastic Pollution
The World Consumer Right Day was celebrated in the ACECM on the 15th day of March 2021 with zeal and enthusiasm. The theme of the event was "Tackling Plastic Pollution". The chief guest was the Honourable Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Eternal University Prof. A.S. Ahluwalia. The event was organized under the Chairmanship of Dean Prof. S.K.Chauhan, Dean ACECM. The event commences with the group discussion and poster presentation. After that Dr. Geeta Kumari Convener of the event welcomes our chief guest and introduces about the event. Mr. Ambar Srivastava throws light on the significance of World Consumer Rights Day.
Addressing the event, Prof. A.S. Ahluwalia gave his valuable remarks on the event and about the rights and responsibilities of consumers. He also talks about the waste management plant located in Baru Sahib which is doing the recommendable job in the field of solid waste management.
Thereafter, winners were announced in the presence of the chief guest and he gave the certificates to the students. The first prize in the poster presentation was given to Ms. Kajal Chaudhary (Economics Department) and the winner of the group discussion was Ms. Simran Sapra. Ms. Pragati Sharma and Ms. Jasleen Kaur stood second and third respectively in the poster presentation while Ms. Sanjaa Bhatia and Ms. Mannat Bawa stood second and third in the group discussion respectively.
At the end of the event, the vote of thanks speech was presented by Prof. S.K.Chauhan Dean Akal College of Economics, Commerce, and Management. He appreciated the participation of the students and also praises the efforts made by the organizing committee members and other faculty members of the college
