Department of Psychology Students’ active participation in ‘Kisan Mela’
Kisan Mela has organized at Eternal University, Baru Sahib. All the colleges had to set up a stall in Kisan Mela. The Psychology Department has set up a stall on behalf of Akal College of Arts & Social Sciences. The main activity of our stall was Sensory therapy & Art Therapy. The students of B.Sc. Second Year Psychology along with the teachers of the department created sensory apparatus themselves.
Sensory therapy is basically used to help children learn to use all their senses together i.e., touch, smell, taste, sight and hearing. It helps children to improve their visual, auditory and tactile processing, as well as fine and gross motor skills. We tried to sensitize all the sense organs through this sensory setup. Students, teachers & villagers all took full advantage of this. and everyone gave amazing feedback.
The students of the entire department worked together to make this activity successful.
