Nauni University, Solan & Eternal University, Baru Sahib Sign MoU to Strengthen Academic, Research & Innovation Collaboration, Solan/Baru Sahib, Himachal Pradesh:

MoU Signing between UHF Nauni and Eternal University

Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry (UHF), Nauni, and Eternal University, Baru Sahib, have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening academic cooperation, research collaboration, and knowledge exchange between the two premier institutions of Himachal Pradesh.

The MoU was formally signed by Prof. H.S. Baweja, Vice-Chancellor, UHF Nauni, and Dr. Neelam Kaur, Vice-Chancellor, Eternal University. The signing ceremony was also graced by the presence of Dr. K.K. Raina (Scientific Advisor), Dr. Anil Handa (Officer on Special Duty, UHF Nauni), and Dr. S.P. Katyal (Chairman, State Food Commission, Himachal Pradesh).

Strengthening Academic & Institutional Synergy

The collaboration is designed to foster greater synergy between the two universities through the sharing of academic resources, scientific expertise, and institutional infrastructure. It aims to create enhanced opportunities for students, faculty members, researchers, and stakeholders across both institutions.

Key areas of collaboration encompass horticulture, forestry, agriculture and allied sciences, environmental sciences, biotechnology, renewable energy, Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), and other emerging interdisciplinary fields.

Focus on Research, Innovation & Skill Development

Under the agreement, both universities will jointly undertake research initiatives and develop collaborative proposals for funding from national and international agencies. They will also organize joint conferences, seminars, workshops, and specialized training programmes to promote academic excellence and innovation.

The MoU also provides for student internships, Experiential Learning Programmes (ELP), and Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE), along with faculty and student exchange initiatives to strengthen academic exposure and practical learning.

Knowledge Sharing & Resource Access

As part of the partnership, both institutions will facilitate access to library resources, scientific literature, and academic databases, subject to institutional guidelines and licensing norms. This initiative is expected to significantly enhance research capacity and knowledge dissemination.

Sustainable Development & Emerging Technologies

A key highlight of the collaboration is the focus on emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), data science, digital tools, and decision-support systems, particularly in agriculture, horticulture, forestry, and environmental sciences.

Both universities will also collaborate in areas of medicinal and aromatic plants, focusing on their identification, conservation, documentation, characterization, and sustainable utilization through joint academic and field-based initiativesFurther, the partnership extends to renewable and solar energy systems, promoting knowledge exchange in energy efficiency, conservation practices, and sustainable development solutions.

Value-Based Education & Holistic Development

The MoU also emphasizes the promotion of value-based education, ethical learning, holistic development, and integration of Indian Knowledge Systems, reinforcing the shared vision of both institutions toward responsible and future-ready education.
