National Science Day

Eternal University, Baru Sahib in collaboration and support from HIMCOSTE, Shimla celebrated the National Science Day to mark the discovery of the  Raman effect by Indian physicist Sir C.V. Raman on 28th February, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The students of various departments of Eternal University, Baru Sahib, and Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Paonta Sahib participated in various events organized during the function. The program started with a welcome address by Dr. Sandipan Gupta, Dean, Akal College of Basic Sciences. The Chief Guest Prof. A. S. Ahluwalia, Pro-Vice Chancellor addressed the faculty and participants and emphasized the importance of National Science Day. Various events such as Essay writing competition, Cultural activities, Declamation competition, Science model competition, Quiz competition, and Skit/Play were held during this session. The theme of Essay writing, declamation, and Science model was “Integrated Approach in Science and Technology for Sustainable Future”.
During the closing ceremony, Prof. A.S. Ahluwalia, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Dr. Sandipan Gupta, Dean of Akal College of Basic Sciences gave the mementos and certificates of appreciation to the winners of various events. Ms. Lavneet Kaur (M.Sc. Botany) of Eternal University won first prize in Essay Writing.  Ms. Nancy (B.Sc. Psychology) of Eternal University won the first prize in Declamation Competition. Ms. Ankita Chauhan, Ms. Sakshi Thakur, and Tanvi Verma won first prize in Science Model Competition in UG category whereas Ms. Preeti, Ms. Samiksha, and Ms. Jaspreet Kaur won first prize in the Science Model in PG category. In Quiz Competition, Ms. Kamalpreet Kaur and Ms. Tanpreet  Kaur of GGSS School, Paonta Sahib  and Ms. Kavya Shri and Ms. Ramya of Eternal University won first prize. The team with the Theme “Environment Protection” won the first prize in Skit Competition
