National Cadet Corps (NCC)
Unity and Discipline
The National Cadet Corps (India) was formed under the NCC Act of 1948 and is open to school and college students on a voluntary basis. Cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades.
Eternal University is under the command of 1 HP Girls Bn Solan (HP).
Aim of NCC
- Develop qualities of Character, Courage, Comradeship, Discipline, Leadership, Secular Outlook, and Spirit of Adventure.
- Create a trained, motivated youth resource for leadership roles in all walks of life.
- Encourage youth to join the Armed Forces.
Certificates
- Senior Division & Wing: Cadets from colleges under an Associated NCC Officer (ANO).
- C-Certificate: Highest level of NCC qualification for senior cadets.
- B-Certificate: Initial training qualification for senior cadets.
NCC Activities
Focus is on instilling discipline, healthy competition, and national spirit to create future officers. NCC provides Leadership, Discipline, Adventure, Military, Physical, and Community Development training to over 13 lakh youth across India.
Benefits of NCC
Cadets with ‘B’ & ‘C’ certificates receive incentives for recruitment in the Defence Forces. The NCC Special Entry Scheme enables graduates (19-25 yrs with 50% marks) to apply directly for SSB interview via OTA. Cadets may be exempted from the UPSC CDS exam.
NCC @ Eternal University
The Combined Annual Training Camp was held from 16–23 November 2017 by 1 HP Girls Bn Solan at Baru Sahib, Himachal Pradesh. Around 420 cadets from various parts of Himachal Pradesh participated in training and competitions.
