Course Overview

MA in Music is a two year performance-oriented programme offered by the dept. in Hindustani Vocal and Music Instrumental Streams.The course is designed to develop intimate understanding of music as a whole along with specialisation in the Indian Classical Music. Curriculum and evaluation of the programme is designed to develop the advanced skills inclusive of intricacies of Hindustani Sangeet.

The theoretical aspect of music includes general terminology of music in detail, the history as well as the aesthetical aspect of music evoking the instincts of students towards De-multifaceted nature of the subject. Stage performance is the most important feature of the programme which gives the students an exposure while performing in front of the audiences that helps in inculcating extemporize improvisational skills.

The programme prepares the students to develop the competency in them nationwide.

  • Pursue higher studies or develop skills of other branches of music
