The Ph.D. Course enables the students to develop specialisation in Indian classical music. Students can follow teaching at school and college and at University level. They can also pursue as professional performers on social media to begin with or to work as a faculty in some University or to follow any other vocational course for other branches of music e.g. composer, music director, playback singer etc. The Ph.D. programme was commenced in 2016-17 within the Department of Music under Eternal University.
First semester of the programme includes research methodology and study of elements of research in music.
Second semester includes synopsis writing and attending seminars for the approval of the topic.
Music is a vast subject and there is plenty of scope for research considering from the historical aspect or its relation with other disciplines. So, at Eternal University, we not only just encourage research work in classical music but also in other branches of music like Divine Music, Folk Music, Music of other Nations, Technical Music, Music Therapy etc.
